SAD flays Punjab CM Channi for ‘deceiving’ employees in DA release
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Tuesday condemned Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for "deceiving" state government employees by announcing they would get enhanced arrears of 11 per cent from July this year, but issuing a notification that this measure will be applicable from November 1. Dr Cheema said, “It was only yesterday (November 1) that Charanjit Singh Channi had announced that he had increased DA of employees from the present 17 per cent to 28 per cent with effect from July 1 this year. Now, the goal post has been shifted to November. It is not sure if it will be effective from even December." The government only has two months left at its disposal. Putting off this decision even now means it does not have any intention of releasing the dues and has left this also to the next government,” he added. -PTC News
