SAD Seeks Re-Poll In All 164 Booths, Defer Counting Pending Inquiry For Free And Fair Polls Chandigarh: The Shiromani Akali Dal  (SAD) has urged the State Election Commission (SEC) to order re-poll in the remaining 110 polling booths and defer the counting of votes in the respective constituencies to ensure full justice to voters as well as to the contesting candidates. Besides, the SAD also demanded complete video-graphy  of all the counting centers- the hall as well as outer complex- and direct the observers to be present at the centers from beginning till end of counting. In a letter shot to the SEC, spokesman and senior vice president of the party Dr. Daljeet Singh Cheema thanked the Commission for having ordered re-poll in 54 polling stations spread over eight districts but was shocked to learn that remaining 110 booths which were captured in the same way were not touched at all. Along with the letter, Dr. Cheema also annexed list of 164 booths where the Congress goons led by their ministers, legislators and leaders had captured the polling booths and hijacked  the polling booths. Also read: SAD to CEO: Immediate deployment of para-military forces on all polling station Dr. Cheema asked the SEC to immediately hold inquiry and order re-poll to restore peoples’ faith in democracy and simultaneously salvage its own substantially eroded credibility. Moreover, re-poll is not sufficient and demanded that the SEC should fix responsibility, identifying delinquent official and take deterrent action against them. Apprehending rigging and hijacking of the counting, Dr. Cheema pointed that the officials had got candidates’ signature on unfilled proformas as specimen signatures which may be misused while declaring results. Therefore, he urged to change the proforma to ensure that the proforma is signed only after the declaration of results. -PTC NEWS-
