Farmers to observe December 23 as Kisan Divas; SAD to participate in hunger-strike
Farmers Protest: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) led by Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday urged its rank and file to support the appeal of the farmer organizations agitating against the farm laws 2020 to observe December 23 as a Kisan Divas by observing a one-day hunger strike in solidarity with farmers.
Disclosing this on Tuesday, former MP Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra said a decision to this effect had been taken by party president Sukhbir Singh Badal.

He urged all party workers to participate in the mass one-day hunger strike to send out a clear message that Punjabis were one against the black farm laws 2020 which would destroy our future generations in case they were not repealed.
Shiromani Akali Dal leader Prof Chandumajra also appealed to Punjabis to wholeheartedly support the hunger strike call.

Meanwhile, Prof Chandumajra also visited the residence of Rajpura Arhtiya Association Jatinder Lada and condemned the Income Tax raids conducted at his premises as well as those on other office bearers of the Punjab Arhtiya Association.
Addressing Arthiyas on the occasion, including Bhunerheri President Kulwinder Singh Rana, he urged them not to come under any pressure from the central government which wanted to browbeat them and force them to withdraw support from the ongoing Kisan agitation.
While asserting that the farmer - Arhtiya relationship was rock solid, the SAD leader urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to follow the footsteps of the Congress party and carry out vindictive actions that would rebound on the central government.
Prof Chandumajra also warned the centre not to follow the divide and rule policies of the Congress party which had proved costly for the Congress and resulted in virtual disintegration of the party.
