SAD (Taksalis) are out to ditch General JJ Singh – Jagir Kaur Chandigarh, March 29: The Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) ,which had first to announce the candidature of (Retd) JJ Singh from Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha constituency, is now willing to have second thought and seriously contemplating to replace him by adopting Punjab Ekta Party (PEP)nominee Paramjit KaurKhalra. Commenting on the development, former Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandak Committee (SGPC) president and senior Akali leader Bibi Jagir Kaur seriously apprehended that the Taksalis would ultimately desert him, leaving him in lurch. Also Read: Shiromani Akali Dal celebrates 98th Foundation Day today Jagir Kaur said that though her political rival, she holds general sahib in great respect and admiration for his enormous contribution as chief of the Indian army and her heart goes to him as such a gentleman general is facing humiliation at the hands disgruntled and rejected politicians. Overwhelming majority of top SAD Akali( Taksali) leaders are seeking to drop the general as evident from assertions of the party’s general secretary Karnail Singh Peermohammad that the party is facing serious crisis over the candidature of General JJ Singh. He revealed that the party was getting calls from abroad to support Khalra, admitting that General Sahib is not acceptable to the NRI money bags with suspect credential supporting the party. Also Read: SAD leaders perform sewa of cleaning shoes on second day at Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar “It has become now clear that the SAD (Taskali) which had been hobnobbing with PEP would ultimately ditch him irrespective of the fact whether he is dropped or permitted to continue as “dummy” candidate”, said Jagir Kaur adding that leaders like Ranjit Singh Brahmpura and Seva Singh Sekhwan had been propped up and nourished for decades and given responsible position but they wasted no time in ditching the party. Instead of facing the onslaught and political vendetta of the ruling party, Jagir Kaur averred that the SAD (Taksali) leaders deserted the party and joined hands with Congress and act as its B or C- team and enjoy government patronage.
