SAD Tarn Taran Rally: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Thursday slammed Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh for not keeping his promises that he made during the elections in the state. During a ‘Rosh Dharna’ in Tarn Taran, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that “Shiromani Akali Dal has been fighting for the rights of poor people.”

Also, the Sikh community has made a lot of sacrifices for our country.” He added that during the freedom struggle, 97 percent of Sikhs detained were sent to the cellular jail (also known as Kala Pani). 90 percent of Sikh detained were hanged on the premises of cellular jail. Kala Pani was a colonial prison in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Smartphones infected by Coronavirus
Likewise, Sukhbir Singh Badal slammed Captain Amarinder Singh for blaming coronavirus for the delay in distributing smartphones. He said, “It’s been three years you (Captain Amarinder Singh) came to power, coronavirus has surfaced now, why were smartphones not distributed?” Earlier, senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia also assailed Punjab CM and said now the distribution of smartphones seemed difficult now as they have been infected by a coronavirus.

Sukhbir Singh Badal on Behbal Kalan firing case
Talking about the Behbal Kalan firing case, the SAD president said that “Gurpreet Singh Kangar and Kushaldeep Singh Kiki Dhillon harassed Surjit Singh, the key witness of Behbal Kalan firing case, and hence he died.” Adding, Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the Punjab CM had committed a sacrilege of holy Gutka Sahib.
“Captain has only given bills”
He also said that Captain Amarinder Singh has only given electricity bills and unemployement in the past three years. “It was former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal who waived power bills and passed Shagun scheme,” he added. Sukhbir Singh Badal also said that Parkash Singh Badal started a free pilgrimage. “He even waived electricity bills for poor people,” Sukhbir Singh Badal added.
Earlier, Sukhbir Singh Badal had criticised Captain Amarinder Singh at a mass rally in Amritsar. Taking a dig at Punjab CM, Sukhbir Badal had said, “Captain Sahab! Be careful before you tell lies.”
