SAD tells CM not to desert Punjabis and pay attention to combat coronavirus
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Sunday asked the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh not to desert Punjabis in this hour of crisis and pay attention to his official duties and tackle the coronavirus crisis in the State instead of indulging in loose talk and using crude and vulgar language when faced with facts.
SAD leaders Balwinder Singh Bhundur and Maheshinder Singh Grewal said it was shameful that the chief minister was expending his energies to deride Union food processing industries minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal simply because she had told him that his government had received Rs 3,485 crore from the centre since March 20 this year.
"Instead of bad-mouthing a woman Union minister, it would have been better if you had told Punjabis clearly whether this money had been received by the State or not? Today Mrs. Badal has released proof of the money sent to the State. Who will prove to be a liar today?" the SAD leaders asked the chief minister.
The SAD leaders said that now it had also come to light that the State government had Rs 6,000 core lying with it under the State Disaster Relief Fund. "Will you be so kind as to tell why you have not released any money to the farmers, daily wagers and labourers who experiencing extreme hardship and are looking up to you for relief?", the leaders asked Captain Amarinder Singh.

Bhundur and Grewal said that Captain Amarinder Singh alone was responsible for the Punjab government's failure to rein in coronavirus cases which were growing exponentially by ten percent per day. "Your own Additional chief secretary KBS Sidhu has volunteered this information through a tweet. Will you call him a liar also?"
