Sand mine row : Amarinder not accepted Rana’s resignation yet : Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has not accepted the resignation of tainted cabinet minister Rana Gurjit. Captain said “I have not accepted the resignation of Rana Gurjit. I have received the letter around 12 days ago.We will think over the matter before the final decision, Amarinder added.
Various allegations were leveled against him of possessing sand mine contracts worth crores on his staff’s names, Power and Irrigation Minister , Punjab Rana Gurjit Singh had resigned from his post. Due to which, he had been under fire in the sand mine.
Rana had confirmed that he had put forward his resignation and now it was Chief Minister Punjab , who had to decide the next action on it.
Rana Gurjit Singh had landed in a controversy in May last year, after his Nepalese cook Amit Bahadur won a sand mine bid worth Rs. 26.51 crores at Saidpur Khurd village in Nawanshahar. Some mine contracts were also bagged by one of his close associates Captain JS Randhawa.
