Sangrur police nabs gangster Jaspreet Babbi wanted in 17 cases

Punjab: Acting on a tip-off, the Sangrur police on Tuesday arrested a dreaded gangster, identified as Jaspreet Babbi, and seized four weapons, ammunition and a stolen car from his possession. He was arrested after a 15-km hunt in Sunam area. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Swapan Sharma said Jaspreet Babbi was in touch with members of the Ajaib Khan gang currently lodged in Sangrur Jail with whom he had hatched a conspiracy to eliminate rival gangsters Mani Sheron and Feteh Nagri. The SSP said they had a tip-off on the gangster's presence following which a trap was laid. A police party chased him for 12-15 km in Sunam earlier this morning. Babbi was travelling alone in a stolen Hyundai Verna car when he was arrested.
