SC quashes Delhi govt's plea seeking closure of power plants in neighbouring states 'causing' pollution

Air Pollution in Delhi: The Supreme Court quashed a Delhi government's plea against the Centre, seeking closure of 10 thermal power plants in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The petition alleged that it was causing air pollution in the national capital. The petition by the Delhi government sought to quash and set aside an order passed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) to the thermal power plants regarding the extension of the deadline for installing Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD).
