Sea of humanity at Akali Dal rally at Sri Mukatsar Sahib The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) rally at Sri Mukatsar Sahib on the occasion of Maghi got an overwhelming response on Monday. A large number of supporters gathered to hear the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal. Former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Senior SAD-BJP leaders were also present at the conference. People arrived on their own vehicles whereas many were seen riding on the rooftops of the buses to reach Sri Mukatsar Sahib. The Maghi fair is held to honour the memory of the forty Sikh warriors who laid their lives during the Battle of Muktsar in 1705. Muktsar was originally called as Khidrana. It was named as Muktsar, following the battle.
