State Election Commission: Revision of electoral Rolls for general elections of MC

The state Election Commission (SEC), Punjab today directed the concerned Deputy Commissioner cum District Electoral officers and Additional Deputy Commissioners Development-cum Additional District Electoral Officers of Municipal Corporation, Nagar Panchayats to --prepare and revise of electoral rolls for the coming general elections of 3 Municipal Corporations and 32 Municipal Councils. Disclosing this here today official spokesperson of the State Election Commission, Punjab said that as per instructions issued by SEC Punjab,for this purpose of Electoral rolls w.e.f. January 1, 2017 had been set as the qualifying date on the basis of Punjab Vidhan Sabha voter list 2017. The Spokesperson said that electoral Rolls would be prepared on the basis of latest Punjab Vidhan Sabha voter list from November 11, 2017 to November 13, 2017 and on November 14, 2017 publication of electoral Rolls would be drafted. He further said that last date for filing claims and objections is November 20, 2017 and Claims and objection shall be disposed off by November 27, 2017 and the final Electoral rolls would be published on November 28, 2017. Revision of electoral Rolls would  be held in 3 Municipal Corporation namely Amritsar, Jalandhar & Patiala. And in Nagar councils/ Nagar Panchayats of  Rajasansi (Amritsar), Handiaya (Barnala), Amloh (Fatehgarh Sahib), Mallanwala Khas and Makhu (both Ferozepur),  Bhogpur, Shahkot, Goraya and Bilga (four Jalandhar), Dhillwan, Begowal and Bhulath (three Kapurthala), Machhiwara, Mullanapur Dakha, Maloud and Sahnewal (four Ludhiana), Baghapurana, Dharamkot and Panjtoor (three Moga), Bariwala (Muktsar), Ghagga and Ghanaur (two Patiala), Narot Jaimal Singh (Pathankot), Dirba, Cheema, Khanauri and Moonak (four Sangrur), Khemkaran (Tarn Taran),  Bhikhi (Mansa),Balachaur (S.B.S Nagar), Talwandi Sabo (Bathinda) and Mahilpur (Hoshiarpur). -PTC News
