See work done by PM for PB and Sikh qaum before making flippant statements- Sukhbir Badal to CM Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said Congress chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh could not see the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Punjab as well as the Sikh community because he lived in an ivory tower away from the people and their problems. They are however waiting for you to give your report card”. Asserting that Amarinder was refusing to talk about his performance because he had failed on all fronts, Mr Badal said the CM had betrayed farmers by promising a complete loan waiver of Rs 90,000 crore and then going back on it. He said similarly each and every section of society be it the youth who were promised “ghar ghar naukari” or Dalits and the poor whose benefits had been stopped to even employees - all were feeling betrayed by the Congress party. New airports have come up. Projects like the Shahpur Kandi dam and relining of the Sirhind and Rajasthan canals have been sanctioned. An IIM and AIIMS institute is coming up. Farmers have seen a huge boost in income due to implementation of the Swaminathan report and increase in msp on foodgrains and cotton”. He said the PM accepted the request of the SAD and formed a SIT to reopen 1984 mass murder cases which had been closed by the Congress. He said besides this the PM acted decisively unlike former PM Indira Gandhi by taking a decision to establish a corridor to link Indian territory with Sri Kartarpur Sahib through a corridor. “I feel you (Amarinder) should reflect on the magnitude of these decisions before making flippant statements”, he added. Others present on the occasion included Muktsar legislator Kanwarjit Singh Barkandi and Charanjit Brar besides others. -PTC NEWS
