Shallow Fog In Delhi, 18 Trains Delayed

New Delhi: A layer of shallow fog engulfed the city this morning, delaying 18 trains even as the minimum temperature settled at 9.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below season's average. Flight operations, however, were normal, according to the website of Indira Gandhi International airport. At 5:30 AM, the visibility was recorded at 1500 metres, which later dropped to 1200 metres three hours later, a MeT department official said. The relative humidity was recorded at 88 per cent at 8:30 AM. "The bad weather conditions forced delay in 18 north-bound rail services, while forcing rescheduling of 4 others and cancellation of Utkal Express," a rail official said. The MeT official predicted that the skies will remain partly cloudy during the day and the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 25 degrees Celsius. Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures settled at 24.7 degrees Celsius and 10.2 degrees Celsius, respectively.     - By PTI
