Shiromani Akali Dal endorses SGPC’s Khalsa March, assigns duties to its leaders

Chandigarh, September 30: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Friday endorsed the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s call to hold a Khalsa March over ‘interference’ in Sikh affairs. The SGPC will hold a Khalsa March from Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib to Sri Akal Takht Sahib on October 7 and requested the Centre to file a review petition or pass a new law to do away with the validation of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Committee Act, 2014 by the Supreme Court. A decision was taken at a meeting chaired by SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal. Party’s legislators, former legislators and constituency incharges’ attended the meeting.

Earlier in the day, SGPC member and Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka resented the Supreme court ruling on Haryana gurdwaras and threatened to intensify their stir against the ruling.
