Shiromani Akali Dal holds demonstration against Congress
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday hold a protest against the state government for not having doled out SC Post-Matric Scholarship amount pending for years in front of the District Administrative Complex at jalandhar.
The SAD is protesting against the Congress government’s inability to release Rs 327 crore received from the Centre for the post-matric scholarship to SC students.
The SAD chief and former Deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal addressed the gathering outside the DC office. Addressing protest rally,Akali dal chief Sukhbir singh badal alleged that though the Union Government led by BJP had released a huge amount of Rs 327 crores, the state government led by Congress was playing with the future of deserving Dalit students by not issuing funds to the universities and colleges concerned.
Meanwhile,the SC students also converged at the protest from the different parts of Punjab.
