Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal said that the SAD was the second oldest party in India. He was addressing a rally on the historic occasion of Maghi at Sri Muktsar Sahib on Monday.
Just like Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji sacrificed his family for the people of this country, the same way, SAD has also sacrificed a lot for the people of Punjab. Even the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) elections are conducted by the Chief Commissioner Gurdwara Election Commission, under the Central Government.

He also said that the parties that claimed themselves as the protector of Sikhs are the ones hurting the Sikh community every time. Lok Sabha elections will be held in two months and several parties will be fighting. Two of these are snti-Sikh parties.One of these parties will be Aam Aadmi Party while the other will be Congress. He further added that Congress government did not fulfil its big promises.

He further added that He further added that SAD urged the Prime Minister that the culprits involved in 1984 anti-Sikh riots should be punished. It also demanded reopening of the cases, following which Sajjan Kumar was convicted and sentenced. He assured that within 6 months, others accused will also be convicted.

Sukhbir Singh Badal also said that whatever promises SAD has ever made, they have been fulfilled them in time. He also asked the people to make a promise here today to show the strength of SAD in Punjab to Congress. He said, "Let’s promise, that SAD will take all 13 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections."
