Farmers protest against Farm Laws 2020: Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday said that the party will extend its full support to the Kisan Bharat Bandh.
The farmers protesting against the farm laws 2020 have called for a nationwide shutdown as part of Kisan 'Bharat Bandh' on December 8.
Meanwhile, all the workers of Shiromani Akali Dal across India would appeal to people with folded hands to support the farmers in a fight against the Centre's newly enacted agriculture laws, Sukhbir Singh Badal said.
Also, the SAD would organise Ardaas and Kirtan to pray for the success of farmers on December 8.
Earlier in the day, a Shiromani Akali Dal delegation met Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
The delegation stated that "Thackeray said that he'll support all programs of farmers during agitation. He'll also come to the meeting in Delhi two weeks later. He said that he'll support farmers' protest."
The farmers’ have been protesting against the Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
