Youth Olympic Games: Shuttler Lakshya Sen enters men's singles final

Youth Olympic Games: Shuttler Lakshya Sen enters men's singles final Seventeen-year-old Lakshya Sen has assured India of a medal - a gold or a silver - as he brushed aside stiff challenge from Kodal Naraoka of Japan in three sets to enter men's singles final of badminton competition of the 3rd Youth Olympic,Games in Buenos Aires on Thursday. Laksha Sen won 14-21, 21-15, 24-22. At one stage Lakshya Sen as comfortably placed with 17-12 lead in the third and final set. The Japanese, however, fought his way back and after a grim battle gave in at 22-24. Earlier, Lakshya had beaten Ikhsan Leonardo Immanuel  Rumbay of Indonesia 21-17, 21-19in quarter finals. Lakshya Sen thus becomes the first Indian shuttler to qualify for the gold medal match in men's singles of Youth Olympic Games. He will play Li Shifeng of China in the final. Li Shifeng defeated Arnaud-Sylvain-Andre Markle of France  21-13, 21-10 in the other semi-final. -PTC NEWS
