Sikh community donates $11,000 in gift cards to Phoenix TSA workers
The Pheonix Sikh community raised the money to help the workers as they have worked without pay during the recent government shutdown.
The Sikh community donated $11,000 in form of grocery and gas cards. It raised the amount of money in a week only. The members of the Sikh community presented the gift on Wednesday evening at the airport.
An advocate for the Phoenix Sikh community, Anjleen Kaur Gumer, briefed the media that the people have worked really hard throughout the shutdown. Recognising their efforts the Sikh Community wanted to give back and help those in need. She further said that donating money was a way to thank them for their hard work and working throughout the shutdown.
