SIKHS OF NEW YORK: Tied 1500 Pink Turbans to spread awareness about the Breast Cancer A Sikh organization in the US, by the name SIKHS OF NEW YORK today tied thousands of Pink colored turbans to the people of New York to commemorate the Turban Day at the iconic Central Park in New York, spreading awareness about the Breast Cancer. A large number of Breast Cancer Survivors attended the ceremony. According to Charanpreet Singh, “they organized this turban day for breast cancer survivors because, during chemotherapy, people lose a lot of her hair. "We greatly appreciate the many volunteers who lent their time and contributed generously to support Turban Day," Mr. Singh said. "This educational endeavor would not be possible without our hundreds of volunteers and supporters." Those who got the turbans tied, including young children, were seen excitedly taking pictures and proudly walking around with their new headgear. Cheryl Mendz, a young student, said she got the turban tied on her head as she liked exploring different cultures.
