Soldier from Punjab commits suicide by shooting himself with rifle near LoC A soldier shot himself dead with his service rifle inside an army camp near the Line of Control (LoC) in Khour area of Akhnoor sector in Jammu. Rifleman Ranbir Singh (28), from Punjab, was on guard duty at Hamirpur Nawan Military Garrison in the Khour area of Akhnoor sector when he shot himself. A police official from Khour police station said, “Prima facie, it appears that the soldier used his service rifle to end his life. He had pressed the trigger after keeping the nozzle of his gun beneath the chin.” -PTC News
