Announcements such as National Education Policy should really worry us: Sonia Gandhi
Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday said that "the announcements such as those related to the National Education Policy should really worry us as it is actually a setback."
During the virtual meet with CMs of 7 states, Sonia Gandhi said that the other problems of students and exams are also being dealt with uncaringly."
Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that "this will be my request to all state governments, let us do it together, let us go to the Supreme Court and postpone the exam for the time being until and unless the situation allows students to sit for exam (JEE/NEET)."
The National Testing Agency (NTA) in a press release stated that the exams of JEE (Mains) 2020 and NEET (UG) will be held on the dates announced earlier.
Talking about the GST compensation, the Congress president further said that "In the meeting of Standing Committee of Finance on August 11, the Finance Secy, Government of India, stated that Centre is not in a position to pay mandatory GST compensation of 14 percent for the current year."

"This refusal is nothing short of betrayal on part of Modi Government," the Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi said.
