Home Minister should resign: Sonia Gandhi on Northeast Delhi violence

Sonia Gandhi Press Conference: Congress Interim President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday said that the Centre and the Union Home Minister Amit Shah were responsible for the current situation in the northeast Delhi. "The Union Home Minister should resign," she said. While addressing the media, Sonia Gandhi said that "There is a conspiracy behind the violence, the country also saw this during the Delhi elections. Many of the BJP leaders made provoking comments creating an atmosphere of fear and hatred." She added that "Delhi Police has remained paralyzed in the last 72 hours. 20 people have lost their lives so far, including a head constable Ratan Lal, and hundreds were in a hospital, many with gunshot injuries. The violence continued unabated on the streets of Northeast Delhi." Slamming Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Government, Sonia Gandhi said, "CM and Delhi Government were equally responsible for not activating the administration to reach out to the people to maintain peace and harmony. It is the collective failure of both the governments that have resulted in a great tragedy in the capital city." https://www.ptcnews.tv/northeast-delhi-violence-guru-teg-bahadur-gtb-hospital-death-toll-en/ Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that "I appeal to the people of Delhi to not indulge in violence, exercise caution and maintain peace. We have told our workers in Uttar Pradesh to do all they can to maintain peace if violence spreads there." -PTC News
