Speaker Admits No-Trust Motion Against Modi Government. A no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government was on Wednesday moved in the Lok Sabha, with Speaker Sumitra Mahajan admitting the notice and saying she would announce the date for a debate on it in "2-3 days" The no-confidence motion moved by opposition parties, include the Congress and Telugu Desam Party. The no-trust move was initiated by the Opposition parties on the first day of the Monsoon session. Earlier ahead of the session, PM Modi said, “We hope Parliament functions smoothly, whatever issues any party has, it can raise on the floor of the house. Government t is ready for discussion on all issues.” Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said the government was ready to face the no-confidence motion and win it as it enjoyed a two-thirds majority in the House. The party’s Lok Sabha leader Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Congress was also in talks with other minded parties to support similar moves. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) served notice of a no-confidence motion to the Lok Sabha secretariat on Tuesday to be taken up on Wednesday. -PTC NEWS
