Special court grants Vijay Mallya three weeks to reply to ED's notice

Special court grants Vijay Mallya three weeks to reply to ED's notice A special court has granted Liquor Baron Vijay Mallya’s lawyer three weeks to file a reply to Enforcement directorate’s notice in connection with the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Appellate Tribunal case. Mallya’s Lawyer should file reply by September 24, following which the court will decide the course of hearing. The lawyer argued that he has not received most of the notices even though he has shared his Mauritius address. ED lawyer argued that they cannot give more time to Mallya as per law for the revert on the application. Fugutive Offenders law has only given one week time and the special court is powerless to give time beyond that one week time. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) countered charges leveled by Mallya on August 25th, that the condition in Mumbai's Arthur Road Jail is "inhuman" by submitting a video in London's Westminster Magistrates Court. It showed a proper facility in the cell number 12, where mallya would be lodged after examination.
