Vinesh Phogat hospitalised: Indian wrestling star Vinesh Phogat health deteriorated and she has been admitted to hospital in Paris shortly after being disqualified from the women's 50kg final at the Paris Olympics.
As per the reports, Phogat fainted due to dehydration. She is currently resting in the polyclinic of the Olympic Village, where her condition is stable
Her disqualification came after she was found to be 100 grams over the weight limit during the weigh-in on the competition's second day.
"Vinesh Phogat was found to be 100 grams over the weight limit this morning," reported an Indian coach. "The rules are strict, and this has led to her disqualification." Consequently, Vinesh will not be eligible for any medals at the Paris Games. Despite being a strong contender for a silver, her disqualification means she will have to return home without any accolades.
Vinesh Phogat entered the Gold Medal bout after beating Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez 5-0 in the semi-finals on Tuesday night.
