Stars from Telugu film industry including SS Rajamouli, Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi cast their votes
Top stars from the Telugu film industry including SS Rajamouli, Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi Ram Charan Tej and, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr exercised their Right to Vote in the first phase of the seven-phased Lok Sabha elections on Thursday. Allu Arjun arrived at the BSNL office in Hyderabad to cast his vote.
Chiranjeevi was also present in the same area of Hyderabad to cast his vote. He was accompanied by his son Ram Charan Tej. Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Jr was also spotted standing in a queue like every other voter along with his wife to cast his vote on Thursday morning.
Polling for 91 Lok Sabha constitutions across 18 states and two union territories is underway.
The constituencies going for polls in the first phase are – 8 in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Uttarakhand, 4 in Bihar, 7 in Maharashtra, 5 in Assam, 4 in Odisha, 2 each in Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and West Bengal, and 1 each in Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.
More than 15 crore voters will decide the fate of 1289 candidates. More than one lakh polling booths have been set up across India. Voting for 543 Lok Sabha seats will be held in seven phases – April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Counting of votes will be done on May 23.
