Sukhbir hits Captain government in political conference of 'Maghi Mela' : Sukhbir Badal speaking in the 'Maghi Mela' political conference said that Sikh religion is the only religion who teaches its followers to stand against the injustice. He said that the Sikh community had contributed on the mass level in the freedom fight of the nation.
Sukhbir said Sikhs are always ahead to sacrifice their lives in the times of any intrusion. He said it was evident in the chapters of the history that the soldiers who were imprisoned in the jails of 'Kale Pani' had 90 percent of Sikh inmates.
Sukhbir said that in the times of British rule 85% percent of Sikh freedom fighters were hanged to death. He said that Punjab had to suffer a lot after the partition. Sikhs have always stood by any injustice done to the farmer, women or poor.It was Sikh warriors who fought against cruelty and atrocities Mughals. He said that during the time of emergency, around 60,000 of the dedicated Akali Dal workers filled jails in protest.
Sukhbir said that the history of Shromani Akali Dal was 97 years old and the party is working on the philosophy of uplifting the farmers and needy and the people of Punjab. He said that the development of the state took place in the regime of the Akali governments. Sukhbir said that Parkash Singh Badal holds a long standing of 70 years in politics, he had always been in contact with the older people in person all over the state.
He said that in Akali regime, all the festivals and religious functions of all the religions were celebrated with fervor and equal respect. Religious places of various religions were provided donations at different occasions. 'Durgiana mandir' was allotted Rs. 200 crore for the construction and beautification. Darbar sahib was also renovated he added.
He said that the former chief minister Badal donated around Rs 300 crore to Ram Tirath for the upliftment and so did for the Ravidas Mandir in Karalgarh. Sukhbir said that it was the governments of the Akalis who had preserved the heritage and culture of Punjab. He said the opposition went on saying that political conference should not be organised at the occasion of Maghi Mela whereas our Gurus had taught us about ‘Miri Piri’.
Sukhbir said that Akalis made ‘Virast-E-Khalsa’ at Anandpur Sahib so that the history of Sikh religion should be passed on to the generation next. He said that it was in the rule of the Akali government that the memorial of Baba Banda Singh Bahadar was established.
Sukhbir said that It would narrate the history of ‘Chhota Ghalughara’ and during the incident ‘Vada Ghalughara’ 30 thousand Sikh men and women made sacrifice of their lives, the memorial had been established at that place, he added. Sukhbir said it was Badal government that started ‘Mukhmantri Tirath Yatra’ for the followers of various religions on government’s expense.
Sukhbir said that the present Captain government betrayed farmers and broke his promise made during election. He said there were 20 lakh families of the farmers in the state and just 1crore 70 lakh had been waived off of the affected 46 thousands families. Sukhbir said captain government levied tax on wheat and paddy crop and collected that money and gave it back on the name of loan waiver.
Sukhbir said that Badal had waived off of much more amount of the loans of farmers than the present government. He said that it was Badal government that started Atta Dal scheme and Shagun scheme in the state.
He said that Captain Government had stopped all the welfare schemes of the Akali government. He said that the Shagun scheme ,Sewerage work , Pension scheme, Thermal Plants, Kabaddi World Cup, Seva Kendra , Atta Dal, Mukhmantri Tirath Yatra , Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme to girl students, Water Bus , Grants in the villages had been stopped by the Captain government in its present tenure the of 10 months.
He said that state government made excuses of empty exchequer whereas they know nothing about running a state successfully. He said that Manpreet knows nothing about Punjabi. He talks in Urdu and he had given grant to Urdu language. Taking on to Congress and AAP he said that the duo had hands in gloves and that they had given wrong projection by talking of Drugs in the state.
