Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Sunday condemned the Punjab government's decision to close 300 mandis by November 10 amid the paddy procurement season. Sukhbir Singh Badal said that "Punjab govt's decision to close 300 mandis by Nov 10, is highly condemnable! Fearing closure, farmers will bring unripe paddy to mandis, suffering huge loss. I demand CM Charanjit Singh Channi to keep all the mandis/purchase centres open till the end of paddy procurement season."
