Race for Punjab CM: Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa's name dropped at last moment
Punjab Congress Crisis: Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa was about to be declared the next Chief Minister of Punjab, said sources on Sunday (September 19). However, his name was dropped at last moment.
Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa emerged as the front-runner given his position in the Navjot Singh Sidhu's camp and his experience as a Cabinet Minister, sources informed. However, Charanjit Singh Channi was declared the Chief Minister of Punjab.

In fact, Wikipedia had declared Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa as the Chief Minister of Punjab. It stated, "On September 19, 2021, he became Cheif Minister of Punjab."

Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa is known to be a strong anti-Captain voice in Punjab. He was a significant part of the rebellion against Captain Amarinder Singh alongside PPCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu.
He is also said to have experience as the organisational head. He has served as the Minister of Jail and Department Of Cooperation in the outgoing Captain Amarinder Singh cabinet.
Randhawa first successfully contested from Fatehgarh Churian constituency in 2002. In 2012, he was elected from Dera Baba Nanak. Currently, he has been serving as a member of Punjab Legislative Assembly (MLA) and represents Dera Baba Nanak.
