In a major turnaround, expelled Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Bholath Sukhpal Singh Khaira faces deficit in his own native village Ramgarh .

Sukhpal Khaira’s sister in law Kulbir Kaur who was in fray for the post of sarpanch was defeated by the congress candidate Nirmal Singh by a margin of 54 votes. Kulbir Kaur got 400 votes whereas her rival candidate Nirmal Singh got 454 votes.

The polls were held to elect 13,276 sarpanchs and 83,831 panchs in the state. As many as 8,000 candidates were in fray for the post of sarpanchs and panchs whereas around 4,363 sarpanchs and 46,754 panchs were already elected unopposed.

The final results ,276 sarpanchs and 83,831 panchs were released by the state election commission on Sunday.
