Sumedh Singh Saini gets no relief from Punjab and Haryana High Court

In a major setback to ex-DGP Sumedh Singh Saini, who was arrested by the Vigilance Bureau in a corruption case, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday refused to grant immediate relief to him. Hours before Vigilance Bureau arrested him, Punjab’s former DGP Sumedh Singh Saini had moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court. Here’s how much it will cost you now Saini is seeking directions for the extension of blanket bail to him in all cases. He had earlier moved the High Court in November last year for extending the protection granted by the Punjab and High Court, vide order dated October 11, 2018. Saini, who is facing allegations of human rights abuse during terrorism in Punjab, is also facing legal proceedings in two murder cases.
