Supreme Court on Farmers Protest: Amid a continuous deadlock between the Centre and protesting farmers, the Supreme Court is all set to hear on Monday pleas challenging the farm laws 2020 along with those pleas related to the ongoing farmers protest.
The eighth round of meetings between the Centre and the farmers on January 7 remained inconclusive as the Union Ministers ruled out repealing the farm laws 2020 while the farmer leaders said they were ready to fight till death. The farmers had a slogan, "'ghar waapsi' will happen only after 'law waapsi'".

A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde will hear the matter. It is pertinent to mention that the Centre and the farmer leaders are scheduled to hold their next meeting on January 15.
The Central government has informed that the discussions between the farmers and Centre are 'healthy' and that there was a chance that both the sides will come to a conclusion soon.

Meanwhile, Yogendra Yadav, Swaraj India, said that the farmers will present their side in the apex court on Monday. On behalf of the farmers, Prashant Bhushan and Dushyant Dave will be present during hearing in the Supreme Court over farm laws 2020 and farmers protest.
Even as he said that the call for January 26 parade will remain the same.
The farmers’ have been protesting against the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, and Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
