Nirbhaya Rape Case: Supreme Court dismisses Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by convict Pawan Kumar Gupta as the Court did not find any fresh ground in the matter. Pawan has claimed that he was a juvenile at the time of crime and the Delhi High Court had ignored this fact. Supreme Court on Monday started hearing Nirbhaya rape convict Pawan Gupta's plea challenging the High Court order. Earlier, the High Court had dismissed his claim that he was a ‘juvenile’ at the time of the crime. AP Singh, lawyer for Pawan K Gupta, started arguing before SC three-judge bench. On July 9, 2018, your (Pawan) petition was dismissed by this court, but now how come you are coming with some new information, how this will be maintainable?, Justice Ashok Bhushan observed. https://www.ptcnews.tv/jammu-and-kashmir-army-jawan-missed-wedding-due-to-heavy-snowfall-en/ AP Singh stated before SC three-judge bench that Pawan's age was 17 years, 1 month and 20 days, when the offence was committed, that's why his role should be considered as a juvenile in the case. Meanwhile, Asha Devi, mother of convict stated that "Their tactic to delay hanging has been rejected. I'll be satisfied only when they're hanged on Feb 1. Just like they're delaying it one after other, they must be hanged one by one so that they understand what it means to toy with law." -PTC News  -
