Sushma Swaraj calls all-party meet today in wake of IAF surgical strike
Union Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj today (February 26) called an all-party meeting in wake of IAF surgical strike. The all-party meeting would take place at around 5 pm at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan in Delhi.
There is no official word on who all would be attending this meeting. According to media sources, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC patron, Mamta Banerjee, is most likely to miss this meeting.
Earlier in the day, Indian Air Force carried out aerial strikes at major terror camps in Pakistan occupied Kashmir with 1000 kg bomb. The air strike was carried out at 3:30 am. According to sources, Indian Fighter jets struck major terrorist camp across the LoC and destroyed it completely. The air strike destroyed three launch pads in Balakot, Chakoti and Muzaffarabad of the Jaish-e-Mohammad. It also destroyed control rooms of the JeM.
Foreign Secretary, Vijay Gokhale confirmed the attack. He briefed the media and said that the target was chosen to avoid civilian causalities. The Indian Air Force has targeted the terror camp, located in thick forests on a hilltop away from civilian areas. It was run by Maulana Yousuf Azhar, brother-in-law of JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar.
Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan called an emergency meeting to review the situation post aerial strike.
