Suspected coronavirus patient kills self in Delhi

In a major incident, a 23-year-old man, suspected to be a patient of coronavirus (COVID 19), committed suicide by jumping from the 7th floor of Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Thursday. The Delhi Police stated that the deceased was admitted to the hospital on Thursday after returning from Sydney, Australia. As per the report, the deceased was living in Sydney for the last one year. He arrived in Delhi on Thursday via Air India flight. Soon after he reached Delhi, he mentioned headache as a complaint in his self-reporting form.

He jumped after being taken for admission

As per the report, the deceased jumped out of the 7th floor of the Safdarjung hospital, where he was taken for the admission and evaluation. According to the information, when the doctors reached the room the man was missing. In the meanwhile, another doctor coming out of the building at ground floor observed a body lying on the floor at around 9:15 pm. Coronavirus in India

With coronavirus spreading in the country, the government of India has started screening all the passengers at international airports. Meanwhile, the suspected patients are being taken for quarantine, while most of them are being asked to stay home for at least 14 days. So far, India has reported 166 cases of coronavirus (COVID 19), comprising 141 Indian nationals and 25 foreign nationals. -PTC News
