Teachers, nursing staff to hold massive protest rally on October 17 in Chamkaur Sahib
The Punjab Teachers Alliance and nursing staff have decided to hold a massive protest rally on October 17 in Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's constituency Chamkaur Sahib.
The leaders accused the government and the finance department of failing to notify the government of the higher pay scale recommended by the pay commission for the entire faculty and nursing staff in 24 categories.

The protesting teachers and nursing staff have asked Punjab Government to implement other allowances given by the Commission to give all benefits to the employees recruited after 01.01.2016 like other employees.

Following the consensus reached in the meeting with the Principal Secretary Hussain Lal at Punjab Bhawan on September 28, referring to the agreements reached to notify the important demands of the teachers' alliance, the Punjab Cabinet had said that it was being resolved and that the forthcoming cabinet meeting should be awaited but it was unfortunate that pay commission and other demands which have caused a huge outcry among the teachers and nursing staff were not taken up in the meeting.
The alliance and nursing staff have threatened the Punjab Government with stern actions that would be taken if the govt doesn't notify the demands till Oct 15.
Likewise, the protesting leaders have announced that a massive protest rally will take place on October 17 in Punjab Chief Minister's constituency Chamkaur Sahib.
Meanwhile, letters will be sent to the Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi through SDMs across Punjab on October 11 and 12 regarding the non-implementation of the scale given by the Pay Commission to 24 categories and other demands.
