Tejinderpal Sandhu, an expelled SAD leader who got 2300 votes in 2017 elections
Patiala, March 26 – The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today disclosed that former Sanour based leader Tejinderpal Singh Sandhu, who had joined the Congress party, had been expelled from the SAD in the run up to the 2017 assembly elections.

Disclosing this here, SAD President’s Political Secretary Charanjit Singh Brar said Sandhu had been expelled in 2017 following which he contested the 2017 assembly elections and bagged 2300 votes. He said the very fact that Sandhu had been welcomed into the Congress by chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, PPCC President Sunil Jakhar and two cabinet ministers showed how weak the Congress party had become in its former bastion of Patiala. “The very fact that the Congress is laying out the red carpet for a rudderless leader who has been rejected in his area, speaks volumes about the desperation of the Congress party and its Lok Sabha candidate Preneet Kaur”, Mr Brar added.
