Terrorists attack residence of BJP leader in Nowgam area, policeman killed
One policeman martyred as terrorists opened fire at the guard post outside BJP leader Anwar Ahmad's residence in Nowgam, Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The policeman was earlier injured when militants fired upon the residence of a BJP leader Anwar Ahmad in the Nowgam area of Jammu and Kashmir. However, he later succumbed to his injuries. According to the information, he was injured in an attack and rushed to SMHS hospital where he was declared brought dead. Likewise, the Medical Superintendent of SMHS Hospital, Nazir Chowdhary, said that he was “brought dead” to the hospital. The militants fled the spot with an SLR rifle. It may be recalled that it was not for the first time that militants have attacked a BJP leader. In 2018, some militants had attacked Anwar Khan and opened fire in the Pulwama district. During this incident, a police officer was injured while Khan had escaped unhurt.
