Thousands Attend Sikh Festival in Yuba City
Thousands of people who attended the Yuba City Sikh festival saw colorful clothing, shoes, and accessories at the bustling bazaar. The temporary white color tents were set on this eve. They celebrated the first installment of the festival with a grand parade.
The Sikh Festival in Yuba City is one of the largest Sikh gatherings outside of Asia. A lot of people from England, Chicago, Canada attend this festival.
Half a dozen large kitchens were set up where people were preparing food for the past week. Hundreds of restrooms were also installed. A large number of people from the community volunteer labor and donations that helped the organizers bring in tons of food and supplies. Apart from these, the tour of various temples was included. Several lectures were given that explained the Sikh religion. Fireworks display was also scheduled.
The First Sikh Festival in Yuba City was held 39 years ago. From then, it has become a tradition than just a festival.
