Thunderstorm, lightning likely in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi for next 4 days
IMD Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds with speed up to 30-40 kmph at isolated places over Delhi, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad.
The Indian Meteorological Department stated that similar weather conditions were likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands where gusty wind blow with speed up to 40-50 kmph is very likely at isolated places.

Besides Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, thunderstorm with lightning is expected at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, later in the day on Thursday.

Likewise, heavy rainfall is predicted at isolated places over east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya, IMD stated in its weather update.
Strong winds up to the speed of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely over Southwest and West central Arabian Sea.
It also announced that there will be "no significant change in temperatures over the country during next 5 days".
For the next two days, there is possibility of fairly widespread rainfall over most parts of Northeast, East India, Telangana and Islands
