Tokyo Olympics 2020 witnesses first case of coronavirus in Olympic Village
Tokyo Olympics 2020: Tokyo Olympics has registered its first case of coronavirus in the Olympic Village just six days before the mega sports event begins, the organisers said on Saturday.
Masa Takaya, the spokesman for the Tokyo organising committee, said that there was one person in the Olympic village who tested positive for coronavirus. It is the very first case being reported during the screening test.

The identification of the person has not been revealed yet as the organisers have refused to identify the person.

The chief organiser of the Tokyo 2020 Games, Seiko Hashimoto, said that they were doing everything to prevent any Covid outbreaks. If there will be an outbreak then the organisers will make sure that they have a plan in place to respond," Hashimoto added.
As the Olympics has already been postponed by a year because of the coronavirus pandemic. Meanwhile, the organisers have put in place stringent measures to avoid coronavirus infections in the Village.
