Tour of Malaysia: India women start with a 3-0 win
The visiting Indian women's hockey team could not have asked for a better start than an impressive 3-0 win in the opener in the 5-Test match series that got under way at Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

It was mercurial Vandana Katariya, who converted a penalty corner at the beginning of the second quarter to wrap up the match with a brilliant field goal in the final minute. In between Lalremsiami, a promising youngster, also scored an opportunist field goal in the third quarter to keep India ahead of the hosts.
Indian women will play first Test matches during the tour. The tour is in preparation of Indian women's hockey team for the FIH Series finals that will pave way for the top teams to qualify for the Olympic Qualifier.
