Tractor March Violence: 22 FIRs registered by Delhi Police so far

Farmers’ Tractor March Violence: A total of 22 FIRs have been registered by Delhi Police in connection with the violence during farmers’ tractor march in Delhi on Tuesday, sources said on Wednesday.

So far, 5 FIRs in connection with violence in tractor march have been lodged in Eastern Range, the Delhi Police sources revealed.

Tractor March Violence: 15 FIRs registered by Delhi Police so far

Delhi Police, giving update on violence during tractor rally in Delhi, stated that “Most of incidents were reported from Mukarba Chowk, Gazipur, A-Point ITO, Seemapuri, Nangloi T-Point, Tikri Border and Red Fort.”

Around 86 policemen were reported injured and several public and private properties were damaged in this act of vandalism by the mob.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered at IP Police Station in connection with the violence in ITO. Case has been registered against unknown protestors including the farmer who died after his tractor overturned after ramming into a barricade.

It is pertinent to mention that one farmer died during the violence. While some says that he was shot, the police has released a video in which the tractor overturned after hitting barricade.

Ghazipur Mandi, NH-9 and NH-24 have been closed for traffic movement. People commuting from Delhi to Ghaziabad are advised to take Shahdara, Karkari Mor and DND: Delhi Traffic Police

Meanwhile, Delhi Police is keeping a close watch on the situation and also registering cases of violation of lawful directions, rioting, damage to public property and assault on public servant with deadly weapons regarding several incidents reported from various locations.

The police stated that 30 police personnel including SHO of Mohan Garden Police Station sustained serious injuries in the violence in Dwarka district during tractor march. Three FIRs are being registered in this regard, the Police stated.
