1 month concessional train travel facility for Guru Ravi Das ji birth anniversary celebrations – Harsimrat Badal
The Union Railways ministry has acceded to a request by union food processing industries minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal to grant concessional travel facility to pilgrims during the one month long Guru Ravi Das ji birth anniversary celebrations being organized by the Guru Ravi Das Janam Asthan Public Charitable Trust, Jalandhar from January 5, 2019 to February 5, 2019.
Disclosing this here today, Mrs Harsimrat Badal disclosed that the Railways ministry had acceded to her request as a very special case after the Janam Asthan Charitable Trust approached her in this regard.
She said all pilgrims would be granted fifty per cent concession for travel in second class sleeper in trains from Ambala, Jalandhar, Bathinda, Pune and Varanasi and back for the one month period.
Mrs Badal while thanking Union railways minister Piyush Goyal for acceding to this request along with starting a new train from Nanded to Jammu to facilitate pilgrims visiting Sri Hazur Sahib as well as those going to Mata Vaishnoo Devi in Jammu and various other shrines like Sri Hemkunt Sahib, Haridwar, Badrinath and Kedarnath in Uttarakhand, said these steps would go a long way in facilitating pilgrims across the country.
She said the one month 50 per cent concession facility for travel during Guru Ravi Das birth anniversary celebrations would be available in both mail and express trains.
