Punjab: Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa has tested positive for the novel coronavirus on Tuesday.
Earlier, he was tested for COVID-19 after Vipul Ujjwal, Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Department was tested positive for the coronavirus. However, Bajwa’s report turned negative for the first time.
According to the information, Vipul Ujjwal had attended a meeting with him. Bajwa had shown corona symptoms after which he was tested again.
Soon after Bajwa’s report turned positive, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh took to Twitter and wrote: “Wishing my Cabinet colleague Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa Ji a speedy recovery. He has tested positive for Covid-19 today. Looking forward to having you rejoin us soon again.”
Meanwhile, the total number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has increased to 8511 after 340 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours, as of Tuesday evening. A total of 9 COVID fatalities were reported on Tuesday alone. With these deaths, the toll has increased to 213.
