Two girls of 8th standard jump off hotel terrace in Salem
Two girls of St. Mary’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Arisipalayam jumped off the terrace of a two-storey hotel building on Bazaar street in the city on Saturday morning. One of the girls died instantly while the other is battling for life at the government hospital. The deceased has been identified as J Jayarani, 13, daughter of Jayaraj. Both were students of class 8th. Salem town police inspector S Kumaresan said both Jayarani and her classmate S Kavi Sri had gone missing from school on Friday. "The school management lodged a complaint with Pallapatty police," said Kumaresan. Police officials ruled out the possibility of the children being driven to suicide by the deadly 'Blue Whale' game. They are probing all possible reasons as to why the two girls resorted to the extreme step. -PTC News
