UK gives nod to single-shot Johnson & Johnson Covid-19 vaccine
COVID-19 vaccination in UK: The UK on Friday approved the use of the single-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said. UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock said that it would be a further boost to the UK's successful COVID-19 vaccination programme, which already saved over 13,000 lives. UK government is hopeful that the single-dose jab will play a key role in the months to come as young people were coming forward for their vaccinations. Meanwhile, British PM Boris Johnson said that "This was very welcome news and another boost to our hugely successful vaccination programme. As we encourage everyone to get their jabs, the single-dose Janssen vaccine will play an important role in helping us protect people from the virus. When you get the call, get the jab."
