Union Budget 2019 impact: Sensex jumps 500 points , Nifty hits 10,843
The BSE benchmark Sensex on Friday jumped over 100 points ahead of the Budget presentation by Finance Minister Piyush Goyal .

The BSE Sensex Index surged as much as 518.62 points to touch 36,775.31. Presently, it is trading at 36,386 , whereas the NSE Nifty 50 Index rose 0.97 percent to 10,843 after Interim budget announcement.
Interim Finance Minister Piyush Goyal presented the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government’s sixth and interim Budget.

In a major budget relief to middle class, Tax exemption slab has been rises to to 5 Lac annual income. Piyush Goyal also announced that taxpayers having annual income up to Rs 5 lakh will get full tax exemption. Meanwhile, Goyal also announced that individuals with gross income up to Rs 6.5 lakh will not need to pay any tax . Presenting the interim budget , Goyal announced that the standard tax deduction for salaried persons has also been increased from Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000.
