Union Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal inaugurates 2nd Indus Food
The Union Food Processing Minister, Harsimrat Kaur Badal, inaugurated INDUSFOOD-II on Monday at Greater Noida. It is a mega event for the F&B Industry at Greater Noida’s India Exposition Centre. INDUSFOOD-II is a two reverse buyer-seller meet which is organised by the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI). More than 800 leading supermarket chains, wholesale importers and Government representatives are participating in this trade fair.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal while briefing the media said, "India is the largest producer in so many areas. But unfortunately, we are just processing only 10 per cent of it. Because of which, most of the produce gets wasted. The more India will produce, the less will be wasted. A lot of work is being done in this field from the past few years."

She further added, “We have done a lot for the farmers. We came up with many benefiting schemes for the farmers. World Food India did a great job in this regards. More $14 billion has been invested so far. Also, we are working on 40 mega food parks. Food Park is a great place for foreign investors. Mini food parks are being set up in which 10 acres of land is needed. The government is constantly working in this sector. At this point of time, our ministry has plans for every level sector.”
